It is a real thrill to receive the proceeds of special offerings and of concerts held on our behalf. Knowing that people in the Winchester and district churches remember us in their prayers and recommend our service when appropriate is a great comfort.
If you or your church would like to give a donation to help The Olive Branch to continue its work you may find the enclosed form helpful. Gift Aid even after 6 April provides us with an extra 25% of personal donations so please use the form if possible.

Situations Vacant
We try to provide the very best service to the Winchester community so the more volunteers we have the more we can be available.  So we would be keen to talk to qualified and experienced counsellors who may wish to give some of their professional talent or from non-counsellors who would be willing to answer the phone and do other support jobs. We would also be especially interested to know of anyone who feels that they could provide leadership by serving on the management committee.  This governing body of trustees meets every three months and we are responsible for the smooth running of the charity and for making decisions about our future. We have a balance of counsellors and others (with experience in industry, education and finance) which means that we are a multi-talented group.  We have room for more trustees and we would be happy to talk to anyone who is interested in joining a lively team. Just email or write to us (for the attention of Jenny Rolph for counselling and support roles and for Ralph Jessop for management committee roles).

‘Seeds of hope in challenging times’

Mental Health in Britain Today
Mental health issues are constantly in the headlines. There is the worrying number of suicides among young people. There is the concern about the long term unemployed with mental health problems. There is the number of working days lost due to stress at work. This is not to mention the personal suffering and the distress caused to family members. The constant demand on our services is a reminder that even in a beautiful area like Winchester there is a lot of pain and hurt. The government talks frequently of the importance of talking therapies but for many these are not available or if they are the cost is beyond what people can pay.
